I almost died laughing tonight...

because my sweet, innocent husband texts me while i was at work tonight to let me know that we are out of "laundry stuff" and that I need to pick some up. I have to say I have a great husband who does most of the laundry except after tonight it seems as if we haven't really had clean clothes for a while. So I came home and made him go to walmart with me so I could get some more detergent. I come out with my big box of tide and he tells me that's the wrong stuff. I ask him what he means and he told me that we don't have any more liquid stuff left. I told him that that is the fabric softener and turn's out that's all he's been using when he does the laundry. He diligently puts it in the downy ball and that's it. So needless to say he hasen't ever used detergent. When we got home I showed him where the detergent was right above his head and there was still 3/4 of the box left! hahaahahaha! O man do I love him and now hopefully we can have clean clothes!!!

This one is also a week old...this was from last Saturday. After everyone did there weigh-ins we had the "chick-fil-a challenge" which was pretty much an obstacle course of sorts...It ended up being three rounds. Whoever came in first place for each of the three rounds won a place in the second part of the challenge which was a nutrition quiz. We started out by doing high knees through a ladder on the ground, then we picked up a medicine ball and ran across a bench, then did side shuffles the length of one basketball court, then did bear crawls through another tape ladder on the ground, did jumping jacks while pushing a medicine ball over our heads, then ran out the door and around the building which was probably the equivalent to one lap around a track, and ended with 10 push-ups. The first round we lost. Blue came in first. The second round we decided to put our slower people in the front and the faster in back...it worked because we came in first for that round. For the last round they decided that each team should choose the top 10 to compete. I got chosen to be in the top 10 so needless to say I pushed harder than I ever had before because I wanted to win it!!! Which we did!! That left us with 2 wins and blue with one which meant that orange and gray were out of the nutrition challenge. They decided for that that they would have 3 people to represent the yellow and three for the blue...I was part of that as well. The first team to answer 3 questions correctly won and with my vast knowledge of fast food we won!!! hahaha!! It was so much fun!! We all got a coupon for a free char grilled chicken sandwich from chick-fil-a but what we really wanted was to slap blue with a one pound disadvantage since they gave that to us the prior week! O well! Next time! Here we are listening to directions...
The medicine ball bench run...ladders...
side shuffle...
bear crawls...

push ups...

cheering on the rest (don't mind the yellow tights and shorts...I know I look disgusting but its all about team spirit!!!!)

the run...
getting geared up...
us celebrating the win...
observing the nutrition challenge...
yellow nutrition quiz contestants...
the losers!!! hahahaha!! I think I may be a little too competitive! O well!!!

This is a little over a week old but I still had to post it because it was so much fun!! For our Wednesday night workout last week we were told to meet at the fire station in Old Town Temecula. When we got there they put us through a whole bunch of different circuits. When I was there and looking around at everybody working so hard I just felt so good knowing that I am able to be a part of this and to meet all these new, wonderful people and change our lives together! It gave me such a sense of pride. I love everybody but I have to say that I most of all love my yellow team! They are the best! Stretching out! Not a good look for most of us!
Up-downs

We had to through medicine ball from over our head to our teammate across from usLadders
We also had to carry these heavy jugs around
...and pull the fire hoses out and then pull them back into us when we got to the other side
This is us listening to instructions
...and rolling this tire over and over to the other side (which by the way I did all by myself and boy was that thing HEAVY!!)

The Whole VBL Group!!!!

...and the firefighters ;)

7 pounds down...63 more to go!

7 pounds down in three weeks! I'm happy with that! I had posted this picture a long time ago but I thought I would post it again just to show how much 7 pounds of fat really is (just picture in between the 5-10 pounds) It is gross to think that I have all of this nasty fat sitting in my body!! I can't wait to get rid of it all. My original goal was 70 so that puts me at needing to lose 63 now! Justin won't know what to do with himself when I get all skinny and sexy!!! hahahaha!!

Szechuan Beef and Broccoli

Made this for dinner last night and it was delicious!

Szechuan Beef and Broccoli

1 (1 pound top round steak, sliced against the grain into scant 1/4"-thick strips

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt, to taste

Ground black pepper, to taste

Olive Oil Spray

1 (14 oz) bag frozen broccoli (about 5 cups)

1 tbsp freshly minced garlic

2 tsp toasted sesame oil

1/4 cup bottled Szechuan stir fry sauce

In a large bowl, combine the steak, garlic powder, salt and pepper and toss well until combined.

Place a large nonstick skillet or nonstick wok over high heat. When hot, mist with olive oil spray. Add the broccoli and garlic and cook, stirring, for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the garlic softens and the broccoli is heated through and crisp and tender, being careful not to burn the garlic. Transfer to a large bowl and cover to keep warm.

Return the pan to high heat and add 1 tsp of the sesame oil. When hot, add half of the steak in a single layer, and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned on both sides, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer the steak to the bowl with the vegetables and recover. Repeat with the remaining 1 tsp sesame oil and steak. Return all the steak and vegetables to the pan and remove from the heat. Add the sauce and mix well to coat. Divide among 4 bowls and serve.

first VBL challenge!!!

So we had our first biggest loser challenge this morning at the Promenade Mall in Temecula. For those of you who are familiar with this mall we had to walk (not run) from sears to jcpenny's and get a blue ticket and then from jcpenny's to the men's Macy's and get a blue ticket and then from the men's Macy's to the women's Macy's and get a blue ticket, and then from there back to sears where we turned in those 3 blue tickets for a red one. We continued doing that until they told us to stop. Which ever team had the most red tickets at the end won the challenge and were given the task of assigning a one pound disadvantage to every team member of an opposing team. We, the yellow team, came in second and the blue team, who came in first gave us the the disadvantage. They're intimidated!!!! It was quiet interesting walking around the mall all together with everyone else stopping to stare at us. You can see from the picture below that there were a lot of us!!!
(I'm the one with the black headband)
After the challenge they had a temptation challenge. Whoever ate the most candy bars got a 2 pound advantage at the weigh in. No one from the yellow team participated! Way to go guys!!! So not worth it! The winner ate over 1000 calories in a matter of 2 minutes!!
